Education

I have worked for our districts fair share of funding so that our public schools can prepare our children to compete for the jobs of tomorrow. We must see a parent taking an active role in their children’s learning experience.  So much depends on the child’s education and parents need to be involved.

Health Care

I have been your voice in Jefferson City for common sense alternatives to cuts that have unfairly targeted the working poor, the disabled and our children. We can find a solution that will meet our medical needs. While we will have to pay for our medical coverage, I believe that is should be at a cost that everyone can afford. Medical costs have the highest inflation rate in our economy and as your Representative I am trying to work to find a solution so we all can have much needed medical coverage. Once the Federal people decide what they are going to do with our health care  ,I will be able to figure out (with your input ) what we at the state level must do to insure the people in Missouri are representatived as we should be.

Safe Neighborhoods

I believe in strong penalties for convicted criminals. I am committed to working hard for more resources to fight the scourge of drugs and gangs on our streets. Unfortunately there have been heinous crimes committed in Missouri; these people should never be released from our prisions,Never.. Time after time and crime after crime  the people are released on our streets. We must stop this merry-go-round in our judicial system before more innocent people are harmed.

Property Rights /Eminent Domain

I know your home is precious to you. I am in full support of the Missouri law which prohibits the use of eminent domain solely for economic development purposes. I believe the rights of property owners must be protected; Missourians deserve protection for their homes, farms and businesses.

 Abortion

As a former paramedic who delivered many babies in emergency circumstances and as a father of three I have a deep appreciation for the sanctity of life. I believe that the best way to decrease the number of abortions is through education and adoption. We must educate and stop unwanted pregnancies. I believe that while teaching abstinence in our pubic schools may be a good idea, and may work in a perfect society, however all people need to be aware of other alternatives to prevent unwanted pregnancies. I do oppose abortion except in rare circumstances. Remember we have a moral obligation to care for all children, under state law we must educate all children.
