 Meet Charlie Norr

"Northside Champion"

I have been making a difference in northwest Springfield for many years. I was the driving force behind reviving and reforming Woodland Heights Neighborhood Associationand have been a leader in its many programs, making life safer and more comfortable for the residents of the 137th. My community efforts caused Springfield News Leader columnist Sarah Overstreet give me the title of  “Northside Champion.” In June of 2006 the Urban Neighborhoods Alliance recognized me with its' Outstanding Volunteer award.

You may see me while I'm wearing a white beard as Santa's helper with Commercial Club of Springfield's Candyland. Or you might find me helping to plant trees, remove graffiti, or anywhere else I can roll up my sleeves and be of service to my community.
